Attorney Jason Henskee was born and raised in Western New York living in both Wyoming and Erie Counties. Attorney Jason Henskee currently resides in Buffalo, New York with his family.
Graduating with honors from Attica Central School District, Attorney Jason Henskee obtained his Bachelor’s degree in psychology Magna Cum Laude in 2004. With a keen interest in the disease of addiction and science in general he focused his studies in psychopharmacology, neuropsychopharmacology, and drug addiction.
After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree he did not go directly to Law School. Attorney Jason Henskee took the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and other countries absorbing and experiencing local customs and traditions. He found that his travel experience made him well rounded and prepared him for interacting with the variety and uniqueness of his clients.
After experiencing a devastating epidemic of heroin in his small town, which affected those around him, he made the decision to go to law school. It was this experience that motivated Attorney Jason Henskee to concentrate his efforts in the area of criminal defense. As such he took all courses in this area that were offered at his University.
In 2008 Attorney Jason Henskee obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Buffalo with a concentration in criminal law. His course curriculum included New York Criminal Procedure, Current Topics in Criminal Law, Prisoner Law, White Collar Crime, Post Conviction Remedies, New York Suppression of Evidence, and New York Practice among other such courses.
Prior to graduating Attorney Jason Henskee held an internship at the Erie County Public Defender’s Office in Buffalo City Court. He obtained a practice order, which allowed him to practice law under the supervision of other attorneys prior to being admitted. Concurrently he interned at a local law firm where he conducted legal research, prepared briefs in the areas of criminal law, parole appeals, and family law appeals. He also traveled to various local courts to observe criminal trials and other criminal proceedings.
Prior to being officially admitted to the practice of law in New York State Attorney Jason Henskee obtained a fellowship conducting extensive legal research about all aspects of domestic violence. This experience provided Attorney Jason Henskee to be a more knowledgeable and effective defense attorney in domestic violence offenses.
Prior to his official swearing in at the Appellate Division Fourth Department on February 26, 2009, one of Attorney Jason Henskee’s professors recognized his skill and passionate interest in criminal and D.W.I. defense. His professor contacted a well establish criminal defense attorney, the Honorable Michael M. Mohun and made the introduction which resulted in Attorney Jason Henskee’s first legal employment as a criminal defense associate.
While practicing at the Law Office of Michael M. Mohun, Attorney Jason Henskee handled all aspects of criminal and D.W.I. Defense. He was responsible for legal research, preparing legal documents, conducting criminal defense proceedings including Huntley Hearings, Suppression Hearings, Bail Hearings, and other forms of motion practice. In his position as an associate he made numerous court appearances day and night through Wyoming, Genesee, and Erie Counties.
As a criminal defense associate, Attorney Jason Henskee appeared in numerous courts including but not limited to Attica, Warsaw, Bennington, Castile, North Java, Eagle, Gainesville, Genesee Falls, Middlebury, Orangeville, Perry, Pike, Sheldon, Wethersfield, the City of Buffalo and Lackawanna as well as the following townships: Alden, Amherst, Aurora, Boston, Brant, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Colden, Collins, Concord, Eden, Elma, Evans, Grand Island, Hamburg, Holland, Lancaster, Marilla, Newstead, North Collins, Orchard Park, Sardinia, Tonawanda, Wales, and West Seneca.
After two years of practice at the Law Office of Michael M. Mohun, Attorney Jason Henskee made the decision to move to the City of Buffalo where his wife who is also an attorney works. He made the transition to a general practice firm where he learned to practice other areas of law including family law, personal injury law, and business law.
The Law Office of Jason Henskee therefore does provide these services for the convenience of his clients, their families, and their friends. However, despite obtaining proficiency and knowledge in these areas he continues to focus on criminal defense, D.W.I. defense, and Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses.
Attorney Jason Henskee is currently a member of the Erie County Assigned Counsel Program for criminal defense. He is also a member of the Appellate Division Fourth Department’s Attorney For the Child Program where he represents children in Juvenile Delinquency cases, PINS (persons in need of supervision), custody, and paternity proceedings.
As an attorney Mr. Henskee is required to take continuing legal education courses (CLE) to keep updated on the law and changes in the law. A majority of Attorney Jason Henskee’s CLE’s deal with evidence techniques, search and seizure, trial technique, updates in criminal and D.W.I. defense, ethics, and specific issues in criminal defense.
Outside of work Attorney Jason Henskee spends most of his time with his wife, their daughter, and his two boxers Casey and Gus. Attorney Jason Henskee enjoys a variety of hobbies from riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, snowboarding, and golfing. He enjoys discussing these topics and takes an interest in his clients passions in life.
